หลังจากที่งาน E3 2010 จบลงไปด้วยดีในเดือนที่ผ่านมา ทีนี้ก็ถึงคราวการประกาศรางวัล Game Critics Awards หรือรางวัลยอดเยี่ยมประจำงาน โดยภายในปีนี้ก็อย่างที่หลายๆ คนคาดเดากัน Nintendo 3DS เครื่องเล่นเกมพกพาสามมิติไม่ง้อแว่นเป็นฝ่ายได้รับรางวัลสูงสุดภายในงานไปไร้เงาคู่เทียบ แม้จะเป็น PlayStaytion Move ของ Sony หรือ Kinect ของ Microsoft ก็ตาม ซึ่งอาจจะเป็นเพราะว่าเปิดตัวมานานแล้ว
ก่อนที่จะทำการโหวต เกม Rage จากค่าย id Software ถือเป็นตัวเต็งสำคัญที่เข้าชิงไปถึง 5 ตำแหน่ง ได้แก่ Best of Show, Best Original Game, Best Console Game, Best PC game และ best Action game แต่สุดท้ายหลังปิดการโหวตกลับได้รางวัลมาแค่ 3 ได้แก่ Best Console Game, Best Action Game และ Special Commendation for Graphics
ทางด้าน Electronic Arts ก็ไม่น้อยหน้า ฟาดไป 4 รางวัล ได้แก่ Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (Best Racing Game), Rock Band 3 (Best Social/Casual Game), Star Wars: The Old Republic (Best Role-Playing Game) และ NBA Jam (Best Sports Game)
